If the National Water Mission is effectively and fully implemented, urban areas will have some of their water needs met by recycling wastewater. Coastal cities lacking alternative water sources will be provided for through the use of ocean water technologies. The linking of Himalayan rivers with peninsular rivers will occur, and farmers' expenses for groundwater extraction will be reimbursed by the Government. This results in a positive impact on the country.
